Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav, arriving in Varanasi after the BJP's substantial victories in three states, has raised concerns about Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). Yadav suggested that, like countries such as America and Japan, where voting spans a month, the counting process should also be extended over a month. He advocated for adopting a ballot paper system similar to those used in the United States and Japan.
Addressing the media, Akhilesh Yadav emphasized the need for a slower counting process, questioning the rush and stating, "After all, what are you in a hurry for?" Despite the election results, Yadav expressed optimism and affirmed his party's readiness to fight the 2024 battle unitedly, extending a message of new hope. Interestingly, he remained silent on the defeats faced by Congress and other opposition parties.
In a symbolic move, Akhilesh Yadav initiated his Mission-2024 in Varanasi, sounding the conch shell for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. He launched the campaign with the slogan 'Every household is unemployed - demands employment,' predicting historic results and promising a transformative change in 2024.
